About Freya
My Path To Presence
Hi, I’m Freya Williams — a yoga and meditation teacher, massage therapist, and nutritionist from the UK, now living and teaching in Sri Lanka.
My work is rooted in real experience — not just certifications.
At age 15, I was diagnosed with anorexia, anxiety, and depression. It was yoga that gave me a way back into my body — not just physically, but emotionally and energetically. It taught me to soften, to breathe, and to begin healing. That’s when I knew this practice was more than movement. It was medicine.
At 18, I completed my first 200-hour teacher training in Thailand. Since then, I’ve gone on to earn additional certificates, became a ERYT-500 and certified teacher trainer, lead retreats and yoga teacher trainings, and worked with students all over the world — from beginners to yoga teachers, from surfers and athletes to those in recovery. I’ve taught in jungles, surf towns, city studios, and online — and everywhere, I return to the same truth: transformation happens when we move with intention, feel with honesty, and learn to trust ourselves again…




A Holistic Approach

Alongside yoga, I studied nutrition at the University of Leeds, where I gained a scientific foundation in how food can support energy, resilience, and emotional wellbeing. Today, I blend that knowledge with yogic wisdom and lived experience to help people nourish themselves in a truly holistic way — on and off the mat.
I’m also a certified massage therapist. Touch is a core part of my teaching — not as correction, but as connection. I offer deep tissue massage, partner massage workshops, and hands-on assists in class to help people feel more, not just perform better.
Even in my online work, I bring this experience into how I teach — offering self-massage tools, assistive cueing techniques, and mentoring for teachers who want to feel more confident using touch with care and purpose.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me in the ocean. Surfing has taught me a lot about resilience, breath, balance, and surrender — lessons that echo in my yoga practice and the way I teach.
I see movement as a way to process life. To regulate the nervous system. To rebuild trust in the body. My classes reflect that — whether it’s strong, functional vinyasa or deeply restorative yin.
